Today is a happy day for me! I am singing, dancing and trying to sit still while I am writing my post. And all this excitement is because yesterday night I finished "Coral Cables". Yes, it's all done with all the ends weaved in!
This was one of those projects that I was not so happy while I was working on. First, I was not satisfied with the border, the model had that cute curly border and mine was flat as if I had pressed with an iron. Then it felt kind too loose on the sides( my consolation was that I would pass it to Sis). Going up came the armholes section, it was huge and the thought that my upper arms were kind baggy looking nowadays just added more to my frustration. Finally reaching the neck band, another fear surged as I have never knitted any high collar before. Will it be too high, low or too tide ??? Then my alleviation came as I thought , it could not be too high as I have a long neck. If is too low, I didn't want it to be so high anyway it's a summer top.
To my surprise, with a single row of a crochet border, my curly border showed up. After knitting a couple border rows for the armhole section, it became much smaller. And luckily the neck band fits nicely ( but I still don't know whether it's because I have a long neck or due to the hot weather! haha...)
Please take a look at my Coral Cables!
And now I am wearing it! The red here is closer to the real color.
Sorry Sis, I will keep it for myself...
Now, thanks everyone for stopping at my blog and leaving nice comments! A lot of you said that I am a fast knitter. I knitted each of my last two FO's in a week timeline. I guess it was fast enough for my standards. There are many factors that contributed to the speed. First of all, I don't work anymore, and I can prioritize my knitting time. In fact, knitting is now on top of my list. I have abandoned my Pilates and Golf lessons this semester not forgetting to mention house cleaning. Although, I have tried hard to keep it in a livable place and cooked 4 to 6 times per week. Would you believe I carry my knitting bag wherever I go? Having two kids and being their driver I got many small slots of time in between swimming team, tennis, doctor and dentist appointments, etc... So a few rows here and there add up. I think my best day is on Saturday or Sunday when hubby goes golfing. I get to knit for hours! I noticed that for me, if I don't speed up my project , it really can take long time for me to have an FO! And last is that I can't wait to knit my next project in list, there are so many of them. Whish I had an extra pair of hands.....(just for knitting, though) :)
