Is it Fall yet?

First of all, thanks so much for the well come back and get well wishes. It certainly helped to lift my spirits as I was a bit down for not feeling well. After a week of medications , I seem to have been recovered. Of course, also thanks for all the compliments on my FO's.

Is it Fall yet? I was told by the locals that after the Moon Cake Festival, the weather would cool down and also on my calendar it marks, Sep. 22 as the first day of Autumn. So, here I am waiting impatiently for this change as the temperature is still on the 90F (31C). I actually enjoy warmer temperature, but the weather here is humid and make my hands sweat. That means I can't knit with any wool yarn yet.
You can see from the picture below that I am ready for my Fall knitting adventure!

Couple of weeks ago I went to Taipei and bought these 5 magazines at once. Can you imagine my excitement to find them in the shelves? :D
The good news is that DH doesn't seen to mind "that much" to take me to buy them. And that is more than an hour drive from where I live. Of course there is a trade off of favors here as he gets more "golf days" allowances. lol
DH doesn't seem to understand of why is that I can't get them locally. The reason is that it takes 3 to 4 weeks for these magazines to arrive here. As the bookstores Kinokuniya and Page one ( both in Taipei) import them directly from Japan and their arrival time is much faster. For the local yarn stores here they get from a distributor and things are much slower.
Here are some designs that I have added to my ever growing list!

Yes, I still love to knit laces. I don't think I will be able to knit any of these soon.
Look at this design below. It's from Keitodama Winter 2003 and it's been on my list for a while.

I first followed the pattern and ended up with a huge back side. First the decreases from the waistline were fine, then when I had to do the increases, just below the armhole, things started to look very odd. It got huge and I had to unravel to whole thing! I could blame on my pains of not feeling well those days and wasn't careful enough with the pattern.
A bit frustrated, I waited a few days and restarted again and this time I decided that I was going to change the top pattern to a simple stockinette stitch so tnat the increases would not be confused with the stitches.

Still it was not a successful FO. I did a very poor job on picking up the stitches by the collar and the trim of the opening. Also, my usual problem is that the armhole section are kind small. I don't know to recalculate to a looser fit for the armhole and the sleeve arch. Does anyone know how does the formula work on this problem?
Anyway, to my consolation after I tried on , it wasn't so bad. I will wear it fitted or not. :D

Now hope you are having an enjoyable knitting time. As for me, I am all excited because I just called a yarn shop in downtown and they have received the latest Rich More magazine. Get ready, Set and Go... I am ready to run to the store now. See you next time :D

Wow, Mimi! You have so many beautiful FOs and you look great! I've been knitting a lot lately, but I know I don't have much patience for knitting anymore. :P Great job!

It's beautiful, sweetie! I think it fits you fine :-) As I mentioned in email, I'm so happy you're back... you're a real inspiration when it comes to all the Japanese patterns. Must go get Keitodama Winter now!

You did a great job modifying the top part to stocking stitch, it looks much less busy than the original design. Sometimes I find the Japanese designs have too many stitch patterns squeezed into one design.

Looks great on you ;) I think I like it better than the original one. And all the patterns that you chose, all those white and lace, simply beautiful.

Increasing the armhole length, as you probably know, is fairly straight forward--you just knit a longer length.

Increasing the sleeve arch for this corresponding change is more tricky--I recommend using the Sweater Wizard to plug in the numbers or The sweater Workshop for this--it's a dressmaking/tailroing thing.
