By the seaside

Past Sunday, DH and I went for a walk by the seaside. Besides the exercise, I had other plans in mind, such as to take some photos for my post. As you heard before, sport is not my forte, so it helps to add some knitting excitement to the occasion. A few days ago, I found a vest I had knitted couple years ago and have completely forgotten about it and is not even included in my gallery. Take a look, more bobbles? You know I like to knit them! :D

DH was a bit curious of why I was carrying a bag for the walk! Hehe, there was a reason behind, in the bag I had my camera and my newest WIP. We do all these weird things to fulfill the hobby.
As Spring is just around corner, I've decided that I will start to name my future projects with flower names to add more enjoyment to the colorful season. Thus, giving a break to my stones' name. Now presenting, my violet sweater in progress by the seaside...

It was a bit awkward to take this picture with people around and specially that the yarn ball rolled down on the ground as I was trying quickly to to unroll the sides. :D It was worthy, I like this picture, much better than my usual photo background at home!
This is a design from the latest Fall/Winter World Knitting 2005. I had planned to knit with cotton but the weather still permits me to touch wool, so I picked up my violet yarn in the stash. Sometimes, I have a strong desire to have a design in a specific color, don't know why, just feel that the design will look better only in certain colors.
I decided to share a photo of my newest knitting bag that I bought in my last trip to Singapore. I found that it's wide enough for my straight needles ( I still prefer the old straight type), it's fully equipped with small compartments outside and inside as well to accommodate a good amount of knitting gadgets, in addition it's super light. The bag is from Kipling , did you notice the little monkey hanging on the side?

Last is a display of my latest acquisitions in knitting books. Yes, I am still addict to it, though I have seen some improvements.

The first top left is for DH, to my surprise, he wants more sweaters! Middle top one has a lot of easier and simpler patterns but nothing very extraordinary. So is the same for Keitodoma Spring 2006 and Rich More, which I only have liked the cover one, it has an interesting composition, similar to the Sunrise Jacket from the latest Vogue.
Amu January edition has a beautiful crochet wedding dress and bouquet; however, nothing that I would knit in the rest of the magazine. And the last one is a great stitch pattern magazine. It has lots of very intricate designs. I think it's worth to add it to the library, most of the patterns are new ones that differ a lot from the conventional stitch books.

Love the seaside photos, looks like the weather is still quite cold over there. You've got a chic knitting bag and violet does look good hanging on the rail :) Glad to see your long lost vest too.

So funny! I just had a little photo shoot with my sock around town. Siow Chin helped! :)

It's so nice that your husband appreciates your knitting. Have fun deciding on something he likes and would be fun to knit.

The seaside shot is so cool!

By the way, is the Amu magazine new? I haven't seen that title yet -- the thought of "a beautiful crochet wedding dress and bouquet" -- well, I'll love to see it.

Let's see if I am crazy enough to make something like this!

I love your blog. You have completed so many projects nicely... so interesting!
I love the photo which your violet sweater seems relax by the ocean.

The idea you put your on-going knitting project into the bag to take away is wonderful!

It's fantastic thing to know people to knit on Japanese pattern books and also needles..

Thank you for visiting my blog, Mimi!
