Ten years ago

I was living in Silicon Valley and working as a programmer analyst . I was a busy working mom with two little boys ( 2 1/2 and 4 years old) and my main hobby was African Violets!
In January of 1995, DH told me that he had an offer to pursue his career in Taiwan. So what I thought would be just a couple of years overseas turned out to be 10 years!!! :D I also worked on my transfer as there is a branch company here but with our new life, I decided to stay home and take care of the family. Stayed for about an year and DH was sent to work in Japan while I went back to US. That lasted for about 1 1/2 years and then we all returned to Taiwan. This time we lived here for another 2 years and DH was transferred to Singapore for 3 1/2 years. Now we have been here in Taiwan for 2 years. Kind complicated, isn't it?

Five years ago

The kids were older and school hours were until 3 PM, so I had more free time. Things were more "East meets West" so I was living a more relaxed life in Singapore. I would go to the bookstores very often and one day I found Japanese knitting magazines. The temptation was great and soon I was collecting these magazines. Who could imagine that I would start knitting again in that hot climate!
Started to look for yarn and even found Japanese cotton yarn! Found that knitting was so much fun and I was even knitting by the pool side. How could I had abandoned this hobby for so many years!

One year ago

I was really into knitting and my friends were teasing me that they will see me only wearing knitted clothes. Decided to check in the internet to see if I could find yarn info in Hong Kong or Shanghai ( for future yarn hunting trips) . To my surprise, I found Eva's blog and the Asian Knitters Ring. I was fascinated to learn that I was not the only person in this earth that was so fanatic about knitting. :D And with great courage I started to blog, even though my boys questioned me of how I was allowed to meet strangers in the internet as they are not.
