What' s for dinner?

Yesterday afternoon I had a great time reading knitting blogs, reviewing your comments and sharing our passion for knitting. I had even started to prepare an earlier dinner since its 'swim team day' for my boys ( it's after school and we get home around 6:30 P.M).

So what was for yesterday's dinner? Main dish, "almost burnt roasted beef with daikons" ( Jap. white radishes)
I got only interrupted by taking a glimpse of the hours in the monitor. As I was running late and sliding down from the stairs I could smell a burned scent..... I had completely forgotten about the cooking.....Oh, I thought I had lost my dinner! :( . All the juice on the pan was gone and the meat was all shredded due to overcooking. I immediately removed the top portion and rescued our dinner! How it looks?

Can you see it? I purposely put some burnt beef on top, but it was mainly left on the bottom of the pan! I was relieved that it did not smell or tasted bad.
Fortunately, I was using a Circulon pan, and it did not burn as fast as it would be with regular pans.

Changing the subject to knitting....

Here is the back of Turquoise patches after I manage to smooth out the curved sides. But I have a problem that it's kind tide from middle upper. That's because of the rib pattern(k1,p1) that makes it shrink, specially on the top. I have been measuring, stretching and telling myself that it will be fine. However, deep in my mind, I feel that truth is..... It is tight!!!
I am almost half way through, what a dilemma? Should I rip it?
I am seriously considering to rip it and knit this top instead

Can't make the decision, it's painful.......

After this bad episode, I have a good news that I now know how to post more than one picture in one post. :) This way I can write and show more.... Many thanks to Peggy for helping me on this issue!

For those who wants to know from which book I found Pink Beryl , here it is:

I typed in this comment, but it disappeared, so here we go again. Sorry to read about the burnt dinner, but it still looked good. I love beef and daikon. Wow, you are one speedy knitter. Yesterday, that back piece was a mere ball of yarn! The new pattern is so pretty, I must ask - from which Japanese book did you get it? I hope you knit this new pattern :)

Forgot to add - those pins in my photo - they're pins used on notice boards. I've never blocked anything before!

Hi, Mimi. :) Thanks for visiting my blog earlier and leaving me a kind comment! You make beautiful things too, and you have all the Japanese pattern books I've wanted! Plus, the beef and daikon dish makes me so jealous! ;D I look forward to seeing more of your projects! :)

Ripping is hard to do. Could you redo just the top part?
