In my mother's dream
Beads would be hanging from the trees...
So that should give you an idea of how addicted to beads I was. Even my little guy had noticed. :D
Can't find the poem, I know I've saved it somewhere...(bad mom)
Besides that my son also mentioned that I enjoyed eating chocolate and writting emails to my friends.
Well, I found out that I am still fanatic about beads. I have been delaying in making necklaces for some of my husband's coworkers that have helped me wherever written Chinese is an obstacle for me. So I thought that something made by me, would express my appreciation for their help.
These are my favorites designs. The first one has Aquamarine, Crystal Quartz and Bali silver beads.
This second one is composed of Amethyst, Crystal Quartz, Swarovski beads and Bali Silver beads.
This third one has Rose Quartz, Moon stone, Crystal Quartz and Bali Silver beads. Gifted to my sister-in-law.
I have more to show! :)
As you can see, knitting was kind neglected last week.
For sometime, I have wanted to hike in the mountains. I had visions of me knitting in a beautiful view. So DH took me to Flying Phoenix Mountain ( translated from the Chinese name) this past Saturday. I've hiked before through another way that is all stairs. This time, DH chose a shortcut but still took us 50 minutes to get to the peak of the mountain. It may not sound a big deal but for a sedentary lady, that's plenty of exercise.
On the top left picture, I was taking a little break and pretending I was knitting. On the right top, I finally made to the little coffee shop. No real knitting happened, just managed to knit a few rows. I was too tired even to hold the needles. :D
The view is so worth it! Well, I have some knitting to show at least. See, I was knitting at TGIF while I waited for our lunch. It can take a good 30 minutes to have our meal served from our past experiences. It's certainly not the kind of food I should eat nowadays, but it's my boy's favorite restaurant in Asia.

How fun, hiking! The view looks amazing. I'm hoping to go sometime this summer too...
Beautiful necklaces! Do you start with a design in mind, or do you select the beads and arrange & re-arrange them until you achieve something you like?
The necklaces are all so lovely. They must have taken a lot of time to put together. The one for your sis-in-law looks the most gorgeous, but I think that's partly due to the fact that the stones and crystals just glow against the black background. Now I know why jewellery boxes are usually lined in a luscious black velvet - the better to show off the jewellery.
The view is breathtaking, and the air must have been so fresh up the mountain. Plus you got extra excerise from carrying your knitting bag up :)
You're so sweet for making those necklaces for gifts, Mimi!
And your son's poem is so cute. I wonder what my sons would write.:-)
I love the view from the mountain. It is always good to take a hike and spend an entire day outside once a while. And those beaded necklaces are so feminine. LOve IT ! Your son is so sweet.
Wow!!! All of your beads works are so pretty!!! I like them.
You're really talented! Those necklaces are gorgeous. I used to love hiking but ever since the children are born, we haven't hiked that much now. Come to think of it, the entire family has gone on just one hike so far :)
